If you’ve never seen this, or if it’s not already part of your Christmas celebrations, it’s definitely worth adding. Mrs. addiction grew up with it, introduced it to me years ago, and we took the kids to a showing in the theater on Sunday. A c lassic.

My sister watched this about 800 times every December during the 80s. Some of the songs are still in my head. Not sure what network this aired on at the time, but we taped a copy on the trusty ‘ol top loader VCR.
I remember the muppetlike way they walked amused me, and I had to jerkily point this out.

I too grew up with this. Had it on SelectaVision.
10 years ago I found the DVD
in a bin at a grocery store for $
6
and nearly lost my shit. I’ve w
atched
it every year since. Not sure wha
t I enjoy more, the characters, the m
uppetry, or the story.

SelectaV ision? Awesome!
For anyone else, s poilers below!!! =)
I like how it’s the G ift of the Magi, but instead selling/destroying the other’s livelihood , such a terrible decision, but that’s what Paw would do...
So many good jokes throughout.

Yep, but everything works out,
a
nd they have each other. It’s such a lovely story. I can’t believe it hasn’t made a comeback to
pop culture. Maybe the theater
showing you saw is a sign it is. :-)x

Of course everything works out, and only because they put their strengths together and family and friends.

EOJBC has been on CBS, ABC, HBO and Nick at various times between the first airing in 1978 and the 1990's, though it first aired on the CBC in 1977. It’s also on ABC Family in 2015

Probably HBO then, we had that at the time, and I am pretty sure it was commercial-free.

girl and I grew up with it. I have the DVD. We started playing it for her kids last year. Watched it 2 nights ago.
My brother and I used to reference it all the time. We loved it and it’s one of the many things I miss about him.
